Do you love being blown away by the wind on a trip to the beach? To experience the peace and darkness in a place without light pollution? When you book a stay with us at Helnæs Mølle, you can enjoy a lovely stay in natural, charming and attractive new surroundings at any time of the year. Helnæs Mølle is for you who want to enjoy the tranquility of one of our newly built holiday apartments with the most beautiful view over Helnæs Bay and the delicious food from the AKS restaurant. Helnæs Mølle is located on the lovely peninsula of Helnæs in South Funen (approx. 15 km south of Assens). The water in the Helnæs Bay is a hotspot for kite surfers, and for long periods of the year you can enjoy the sight of the active kite surfers when driving over the dam. The first thing you meet on the other side of the dam is the Bobakkerne, which is a fantastic scenic area that is open for hiking. Helnæs Mølle is a well-known and loved place. Numerous parties and camp schools and have taken place here over the past 30 years. The place has been completely renovated in 2019 and 2020 and is now ready to welcome guests in brand new outdoor buildings and holiday homes. Helnæs Mølle consists of 2 branches: • Spisestedet AKS • Luxury holiday homes for a delicious holiday stay for 2-4 people. Read more about the two different offers under the menu items Luxury Holiday Homes and Spisestedet AKS If you are interested in the history of Helnæs Mølle, you will find all the facts about the mill from 1843 in Ib Ivar Dahl’s informative description – see under the menu item History of Helnæs Mølle.
May we introduce ourselves? Our names are Stig Nør and Hanne Plechinger, we are married and we are neighbors of Helnæs Mølle. In 2019, we were lucky enough to have the opportunity to acquire the mill and the large, beautiful natural plot. After a thorough clean-up of the area and demolition of the existing buildings, which were in very poor condition, the two large oak buildings were built in 2020, the first 4 holiday homes in 2021 and the last 4 holiday homes in 2022. When building our holiday homes, we wanted to ‘carry history along’, so stones from the demolished mill house were used as end gables in the houses. We attach great importance to the area appearing as natural and sustainable as possible, and that the buildings fit harmoniously into the landscape. Choosing the moss covering Sedum on the roof and converting from oil boiler to geothermal heating were therefore completely natural choices for us, just as we have subsequently introduced waste sorting and set up charging stations for electric cars in the area. Our great wish is that you, as guests at Helnæs Mølle, feel comfortable in the calm and the beautiful surroundings, including the fantastic nature gardens around the holiday homes. We welcome you to a wonderful stay – and remember, if you have any questions or a problem arises in the holiday apartment, we can always be contacted here. Many greetings from Stig and Hanne
